Meet the Krori Family
Krori – The First Family of Indian Cuisine
Shamsul and Saleha Krori are husband and wife and the original chefs of the Curry Corner.
They opened the doors to the Curry Corner on 26th September 1977.
42 years on, Shamsul and Saleha Krori still do the cooking themselves.
Shamsul is now 69 years old, but he does not miss a service.
Saleha Krori was the first female chef in an Indian restaurant kitchen, probably one of the first in any professional kitchen.
Daughter Monrusha, has left a successful career in law to join her parents, to take the restaurant to the next level, leading the way for innovation and continuing to raise standards.
Daughter Fatiha is sometimes seen helping in the restaurant when not studying but often seen eating a lot of English Cheddar!
These are the Krori’s – You have just discovered the First Family of Indian Cuisine.
